Safti First's two-hour fire rated GPX Framing achieves Level 8 Ballistic Rating

SAFTI FIRST, leading USA-manufacturer of fire rated glazing and framing systems, is pleased to announce that in addition to meeting ASTM E-119/NFPA 251/UL263 with hose stream for up to 2 hours, the SAFTIfire GPX Framing now has a Level 8 Ballistic Rating per UL 752 Standard for Bullet Resistant Materials. GPX Framing, when used with ballistic-rated SuperLite II-XL, combines clarity and transparency with maximum fire and ballistic protection to any interior or exterior wall, window or door application.

Listed and labeled by UL and Intertek/Warnock-Hersey, this durable, structurally sound fire resistive aluminum clad system provides the clean appearance of conventional aluminum framing with uniform sightlines.  The GPX Framing system is available in standard and custom finishes including high performance fluoropolymer finishes by PPG, clear anodized, bronze anodized, black anodized, Decoral®, any species of wood veneer, ornamental metal, and many more.  It has a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty and is proudly manufactured in the USA with fast lead times and competitive pricing.

“Achieving a Level 8 Ballistic rating is just another testament to the flexibility and durability of the GPX Framing's overall design,” says Tim Nass, VP of National Sales at SAFTI FIRST.  “In light of recent developments in our society, ballistic rated products are no longer relegated to detention or secure facilities.  These features can be incorporated in educational facilities, laboratories or any building where the occupant's security is paramount."
