Now in its 14th year, Lightfair International is the world's largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference, with over 19,000 architects, interior designers, and end-users, and more than 500 exhibitors in attendance. New this year is the Lightfair Institute, two days (May 3-4) of intensive academic and training with professors from Parsons School of Design, Rensselear Polytechnic Institute, University of Oregon, Lighting Education Institute, University of Colorado, University of Washington, and several design firms. With levels including basic, intermediate, and masters, the institute will focus on new products and technologies, including LEDs and sustainability issues in lighting. The New Products Showcase & Awards Presentation, May 6, 8-10 a.m., will rank products based on technical innovation, energy efficiency, and design excellence. Lightfair has more than 25 new exhibitors this year.
