Protect the walls

Abuse-resistant interior wall panel offers protection from moisture and mold and is engineered to resist abuse while outperforming paper-faced or glass-mat-faced panels. Fiberock Aqua-Tough Interior Panels provide water resistance to the core; the panels are approved for use in wet areas, including tub surrounds. Designed to be installed and finished like traditional wallboard, with a smooth surface that can be painted or finished with ceramic tile. Available in ½- and 5/8 -inch thicknesses, the latter earning UL classification for fire resistance.

University clad

To blend its 1960s exterior with an adjacent precast building, the University of Arkansas Science and Engineering building was clad in Formawall Dimension Series panels with Duracast finish system, an acrylic coating containing natural aggregate applied over a low-wax polyester that provides the look and feel of precast with the fabrication advantages of a metal panel. Architects AmirmoezFoster-HaileyJohnson, Fayetteville, found that the lightweight metal panels could be attached directly to the existing cladding and that they "significantly improved a very energy-inefficient building," according to lead architect Zed Johnson.
