AIA Houston and Architecture Center Houston last week partnered to host the 5th Annual Gingerbread Build-Off. The event pitted 32 architecture teams against one another to see who could design and build the most unique and creative structures using gingerbread.
Gensler, PBK, Page Sutherland Page (now dba Page), Seeberger Architecture, and Kirksey were among the major firms to participate. Students and design enthusiasts also competed in the event, which drew more than 2,000 spectators.
The team from Kirksey took the top prize with its gingerbread interpretation of the London Tower Bridge. In all, nine teams were honored:

ACSA announces 2008-2009 ACSA/AISC steel design student competition winners
The Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA) is pleased to announce the winners of the ninth annual steel design student competition for the 2008-2009 academic year.
