Plans for the world’s largest airport terminal, in Istanbul, are under way. The facility's architect, Grimshaw, recently released images of the updated design scheme.
ArchDaily reports that the colossal project is a collaboration between Grimshaw and four other design firms: Nordic Office of Architecture, Haptic Architects, GMW Mimarlik, and Tekeli Sisa.
The airport is expected to serve 90 million passengers a year on the opening of the first phase, and more than 150 million annually after project completion in 2018.
The planned site is 22 miles away from Istanbul’s city center.
