The Atlanta Braves and Omni Hotels & Resorts are partnering to develop a new hotel in the mixed-use development adjacent to SunTrust Park in Cobb County. The Omni property will be a full-service hotel and will serve as a cornerstone of the mixed-use community.

The Omni Atlanta Northwest Hotel will feature 16 floors, approximately 260 finely appointed guest rooms and suites, rooftop hospitality suites, approximately 12,500 sf of meeting space, a signature restaurant, and an elevated pool deck and bar overlooking the plaza and ballpark.

The hotel will serve meeting groups and business and leisure travelers alike, as well as visitors attending Braves games, and the many other events and activities hosted at the mixed-use development. Guests may also enjoy the retail and dining establishments that will be adjacent to the hotel.

Located on the 60-acre mixed-use development site, at the northwest intersection of I-75 and I-285 at Cobb Parkway, the new community will redefine the traditional model of “live, work, play” into a “play, work, stay” destination. The community will also feature residences and premier office space, an entertainment venue, retail, and a variety of dining options. The overall layout and design respects and embraces the natural topography of the property, using abundant green space to blend park-like settings with a distinctive urban environment.

The area will be powered by an all-fiber network, which will be the highest-capacity network serving any ballpark and mixed-use community in the nation, capable of delivering multi-gigabit speeds throughout the entire development.

“Our unique brand of hospitality is a big part of the experience of attending an Atlanta Braves game, and we’re thrilled to have a partner that embodies that same feeling with their guests,” said Terry McGuirk, Atlanta Braves chairman and CEO.  “Omni Hotel and Resorts only builds and operates iconic properties in premier destinations.  Their presence in this community further enhances our belief that this will be a destination unlike anything in professional sports.”

“It is an honor to partner with a franchise as successful as the Atlanta Braves, and we know this collaboration will attract millions of visitors to Cobb County and SunTrust Park for years to come,” said Mike Deitemeyer, president of Omni Hotels & Resorts. “This new property will visibly reflect the region – everything from the rooms, food, design, décor and amenities.”

SunTrust Park is being developed by the Braves in partnership with Cobb County, the Cobb-Marietta Coliseum and Exhibit Hall Authority and the Cumberland CID, and will be completed by Opening Day 2017. Located in Atlanta at the intersection of I-75 and I-285 in the bustling Cumberland CID, SunTrust Park will flow directly into the surrounding development, creating a vibrant atmosphere with unique shops, restaurants, offices, residences and entertainment venues that are accessible 365 days a year.

Ground was broken on SunTrust Park on Sep. 16, 2014. The Omni Atlanta Northwest Hotel is expected to break ground later this year.
