Renovations of a 225-year-old church on Long Island moving along

By Leslie Streicher, Associate Editor | January 4, 2012

The Congregation of First Presbyterian Church in Northport, N.Y., which is more than 200 years old, is undergoing extensive renovations to upgrade interiors and make the buildings handicapped-accessible. The $1.8 million project is the result of a three-year planning and fundraising campaign and will result in the most substantial changes to the buildings since 1958. Baldassano Architecture and Stalco Construction will oversee the job, which includes renovations to the historic church structure and development of a new 9,000-sf community services, education, and office center and 3,000 sf of ADA upgrades.
