Aeronautics Grants for Tennessee Airports

Governor Phil Bredesen of Tennessee has announced that Aeronautics Grants totalling $19,400,181 have been approved for 20 Tennessee airports. Some airports receiving grants are:

Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport, $7,751,997 – construction of new taxiway, security enhancements, replacement of airport's HVAC systemTri-Cities Regional Airport, $776,677 – perimeter security fence rehabilitation, runway pavement friction testingNew Tazewell Airport, $300,000 (federal Vision 100 funds) – construction of new T-hangarsSpringfield-Robertson County Airport, $150,000 (federal Vision 100 funds) – new T-hangars

Federal and state aeronautics grants:

Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge Airport, $500,000 – state grant funds totalling $350,000 for the construction of an access road on the airport property, $150,000 in federal Vision 100 funds for construction on a terminal buildingEllington Airport, $591,986 – state grant funds totalling $441,986 for apron and taxi lane project, $150,000 in federal Vision 100 fundsCenterville Municipal Airport, $371,624 – state grant funds totalling $221,624 for construction of apron and taxi lane for t-hangars, $150,000 in federal Vision 100 funds
