The Barrier Island Sanctuary Management & Education Center in Melbourne Beach, Fla., will be built just three miles from the Sebastian Inlet. VOA Associates Inc., the project's design architect, created plans for a 5,600-sf facility that will serve as a recreation and environmental education center, with classroom space, an auditorium, and an observation deck. Native landscaping with xeri-spacing techniques will be used. Expected completion date: fall 2007.
