New mixed-use exhibition center largest in China

Aug. 11, 2010

Constructed on a tight schedule in order to host the International Auto Show in April and various activities for the Summer Olympics in August, the New China International Exhibition Center in Beijing became the largest mixed-use exhibition center in China. Designed by TVS, Atlanta, the center includes a grouping of wall planes, gates, and pavilions that serve to create layers of space and enclose the outdoor rooms. It also draws on a Chinese legacy of civic design with a series of gardens arranged along a central north-south axis extended from the Wenyu River.
