A 26-story, 297,000-sf condo tower planned for Chicago's Streeterville neighborhood, just steps from Michigan Avenue, will feature two distinct faces to meld with the surrounding streetscape. The north and south exteriors respond to the Art Deco historic context of the district, particularly the neighboring InterContinental hotel, while the all-glass east façade blends with the contemporary neighbors along Michigan Avenue. Designed by local architect Built Form, the Avenue East condo tower will feature 133 residences atop a seven-story parking garage and two levels of retail. The tower will be clad with a rainscreen composite metal panel system, an open-joint system that eliminates the need for caulking or gaskets between panels.
