When storms attack

Aug. 11, 2010

Providing enhanced protection against hurricanes and violent storms, durable glass system is constructed by bonding a polyvinyl butyral (PVB) plastic interlayer between two pieces of glass under heat and pressure. Upon impact from a blunt object, the glass may crack, but the pieces tend to adhere to the plastic interlayer, keeping the glass intact within the frame. Saflex HP is recommended for storefront and curtain-wall applications greater than 40 square feet.
