Vytec Yukon Board premium insulated siding offers new design, accessories

August 11, 2010

Yukon Board Premium Insulated Siding from CertainTeed Corporation’s Vytec brand of vinyl siding products, welcomes a new updated design.

In addition to a 5-inch Dutch Lap profile, Yukon Board is now available in Double 6-inch Clapboard, a distinctive wide panel design that presents a broad flat face, a deep panel projection and authentic woodgrain texture. For a finished look, there are several new accessories, such as an outside corner post, an inside corner post and a j-channel all with 1-14” pockets. Yukon Board’s new design also features expanded polystyrene foam insulation that is laminated directly to the back of the siding, creating a more cohesive product. Previously, the foam insulation was mechanically fastened to the siding.

“Insulated siding, including Yukon Board, continues to grow in popularity based on its appearance and performance,” says Phyllis Vail, Director of Marketing Communications for CertainTeed Siding. “With the new Double 6-inch Clapboard profile, homeowners can create a beautiful home exterior and save energy.”

Available in 10 eye-pleasing colors, Yukon Board enhances the exterior of a home while providing increased energy efficiency, superior impact resistance and sound absorption. Yukon Board adds an average of R-3.5 thermal value to exterior walls, helping to keep homes cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. With up to five times the impact resistance of traditional vinyl siding, Yukon Board also provides added protection from the elements. For more information, visit vytec.com.

In addition to Yukon Board, CertainTeed offers CedarBoards Insulated Siding, featuring a natural, rough cedar texture and the look of wide-board wood siding. The siding is available in four profiles and 18 colors. For more information, visit certainteed.com.

EPA to revise criteria for WaterSense faucets and faucet accessories

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) plans to revise its criteria for faucets and faucet accessories to earn the WaterSense label. The specification launched in 2007; since then, most faucets now sold in the U.S. meet or exceed the current WaterSense maximum flow rate of 1.5 gallons per minute (gpm).
