By By Lenora Jane Estes and Sam Oches, Editorial Interns | August 11, 2010
This article first appeared in the 200808 issue of BD+C.

The Biometric door locking system fits standard doors, looks like a traditional door knob, and helps eliminate the need for mechanical keys. Authorized users of the BioLever lock program their fingerprints into memory within the lock using an LCD display and keypad. To unlock the door, users brush a finger or thumb across the sensor. As many as 100 users can be authorized for entry in the standard lock.
