Automatic dual-flush flushometer

Automatic dual-flush flushometer

August 11, 2010
This article first appeared in the 200808 issue of BD+C.

Battery-powered, sensor-activated dual-flush flushometer for floor-mounted or wall-hung toilets automatically specifies the flush level (1.1 or 1.6 gpf) based on user interaction. As the user enters the beam's effective range (two to 42 inches), the ECOS flushometer is activated but continues in a “hold” mode for as long as the user remains within the effective range of the sensor. If the user leaves within 65 seconds of detection, a reduced flush initiates. If the user stays longer than 65 seconds, a full flush is activated.
