2025 Giants 400 Report: Ranking the nation's largest architecture, engineering, and construction firms

More than 600 architecture, engineering, and construction firms submitted data for BD+C's 2025 Giants 400 Report. The final report includes 137 rankings across 25 building sectors and specialty categories.

Welcome to the 49th edition of Building Design+Construction’s Giants 400 Report. More than 600 architecture, engineering, and construction firms submitted data for the 2025 Giants 400 Report. The report ranks the nation's largest AEC firms based on gross revenue across 25 building sectors and specialty categories and six AEC disciplines (architecture firms, architecture/engineering firms, engineering firms, engineering/architecture firms, contractors, and construction management firms).

The final report includes 137 rankings in all. The individual rankings will be posted throughout late 2025 and early 2026.

Data for BD+C's Giants 400 charts is based on information supplied by the respective firms. Firms are asked to verify the accuracy of their data. The Construction section includes two types of statistics. The Contractors chart reflects revenues for general contracting, design-build, CM at risk, and IPD—projects where all revenues flow through the contractor.

Firms were asked to report gross revenue from commercial, institutional, multifamily, and industrial “buildings” work completed by their U.S./Canada-based staff/studios/divisions/teams. They were asked to exclude revenue from non-buildings work or from single-family residential work.

CALL FOR SURVEYS: 2026 GIANTS 400 REPORT
If you would like to participate in the 2026 Giants 400 firm rankings, please send an email to David Barista, BD+C Editorial Director, at [email protected]. The "call for surveys" period will begin March 2, 2026, and conclude May 8, 2026. The BD+C editorial team will email a link to download the Excel survey form, with instructions, on March 2. Completed surveys will be due May 8.

The CM Agent + PM chart lists firms that derive their revenues through fees. In the subsequent market-specific sections (Healthcare, Data Centers, etc.) data labeled “Construction” includes all delivery methods combined (GC, DB, CM at risk, IPD, CM agent, PM).

All building sector categories except for 08 and 23 include multiple rankings for the sector: Top Architecture+AE Firms; Top Engineering+EA Firms; and Top Contractors+CM Firms.
