Building Design+Construction wins two 2017 Jesse H. Neal Awards for excellence in business journalism
The editors of Building Design+Construction and BDCnetwork.com received two 2017 Jesse H. Neal Awards at the New York City awards luncheon on March 31. BD+C’s January 2016 “Game Changers” issue won the Best Single Issue of a Magazine Award. Its BDCuniversity.com Continuing Education Series won the Best Instructional Content Award.
With these 2017 awards, BD+C’s editorial team now has a total of 27 Neal Awards in its collection of honors.
The 63rd annual Neal Awards competition is sponsored and hosted by Connectiv, the Business Information Association, a division of the Software & Information Industry Association. Known as the Pulitzer Prize of the business press, the Neal Awards recognize journalistic enterprise, service to the industry and editorial craftsmanship.
“We are truly honored to be recognized by our peers in business journalism with the industry’s most prestigious award,” says BD+C’s Editorial Director David Barista. “I’m so proud of our editorial and design teams for the countless hours they dedicate each year to producing the highest-quality editorial coverage for our 200,000+ print and digital readers.”
In early March, BD+C won three Construction Media Alliance editorial awards in CMA’s inaugural awards program for excellence among construction industry publications. The January 2016 issue claimed the Best Issue Award; the March 2016 “Tech 3.0” Series won the Best Series Award; and BD+C received a Best of Show Award for consistently high scores awarded by the judging panel.
