Grimshaw and Arup unveil proposal for London high-speed train station
Grimshaw Architects collaborated with Arup to design a proposal for a 270,000-sf high-speed railway terminal at Euston Station, in north London.
According to ArchDaily, the firms developed an “incremental staged design,” which means the station can still continue its services while construction is under way.
Renderings that have been released show a glazed façade, a new entrance that will create a “light and airy destination with shops, restaurants, and cafes.”
Underneath a vaulted roof will be eleven high-speed rail platforms, dug beneath street level. Eleven existing platforms will be retained in the current station to serve the existing network.
