The 175,000-sf Daybreak Corporate Center in South Jordan has earned LEED Platinum status, the first such building in the Beehive State. Designed by FFKR Architects, Salt Lake City, with Sahara Inc. of West Bountiful as CM, the building was sited adjacent to the future Mid-Jordan TRAX line and Mountain View Corridor. Green features include 11-foot windows that give 90% of occupants views of the Oquirrh and Wasatch Mountains, 95% C&D waste diversion, and 100% on-site stormwater retention. Daybreak was developed by Kennecott Land, the real estate arm of mining company Rio Tinto.
