It takes two to transform a Brooklyn industrial district

Aug. 11, 2010

Twin, six-story condominium buildings are planned for the site of two former warehouses in Brooklyn’s industrial Greenpoint neighborhood. Set to break ground this month, the concrete and glass buildings will include 130 units and will be contextual with the scale of the surrounding buildings, according to design architect Meltzer/Mandl Architects, New York.

The design integrates the street’s front heights and setbacks, but infuses a modern, minimalist look with 360 feet of colored spandrel glass on the façade. A glass-covered parking area and pedestrian passageway will connect the two buildings on two levels.

The developer is 110 Green Development, with The Developers Group, both of Brooklyn, acting as the sales and marketing agent for the property. Completion: March 2008.
