Warming with radiance

To warm an outpost in Antarctica, energy-efficient radiant-heat flooring systems were chosen. The tongue-and-grove subflooring covered with an aluminum top layer allows hot water to be circulated through tubing installed on the subflooring panels. The heat radiates into the solid objects in the room, creating a comfortable heat balance.
