Major renovations, including a $50 million rehab of the Student Union, are prominent in the University of Mississippi’s current $118 million construction program. The 163-year-old campus will see other renovations and expansion projects in student housing, research facilities, classrooms, and administrative space. Some new construction, including a science center, is also in the works.

In addition, many areas around campus will undergo curb cut work to improve handicap accessibility. One project, the revamping of Lamar Hall, presents a major demolition challenge. The post-tension concrete building will have elevator shafts installed, making partial demolition necessary—a tricky, time-consuming task.
