A 20,000-sf glass curtain wall is the focal point of the 54-story JW Marriott Hotel at L.A. Live in Los Angeles, the first building in 20 years to reach that height in the city. To achieve this structural feat, Enclos Corp. designed the wall using a stainless steel truss system from Ronstan Tensile Architecture. The cabling system uses Ronstan ACS1-SS and ARS1-SS rods and turnbuckles that hold up the wall in a corner-to-corner style, forming a crisscross pattern. Combined with horizontal bracing cables, the system creates a geometric pattern that not only supports the walls, but also adds to the lobby’s visual appeal.
