Green envelope for Arizona library project

Aug. 11, 2010

The Appaloosa Library, located in northern Scottsdale, Ariz., used 13,200 sf of composite panels from Morin's Integrity series to clad the 21,500-sf new building as part of an effort by DWL Architects & Planners and Douglas Snydor Architects to achieve LEED Gold status. Integrity series panels are fabricated from Galvalume/Zincalume, aluminum, zinc, copper, or stainless steel. Appaloosa Library is one of the first buildings to use Vari Cool iridescent paint on the Morin panels. The paint reflects infrared light, keeping the building cool and reducing energy use.
