Double-action hinge for glass door system

Aug. 11, 2010

Recommended for interior applications where a minimal, modern design is desired (such as offices or art galleries), double-action hinge for glass doors returns the door to closed position by the action of the hinges alone, without the use of a recessed floor or overhead closer. At 90 degrees, the Tensor hinge holds the door firmly in position. Once pushed in the closing direction, the spring mechanism of the hinge takes over, slowing closing the door. The hinge offers a slightly convex, radius form and features an inlay that serves as a mechanical stop for the hinge, protecting the surface of the fixed hinge section from damage when the door is opened to 90 degrees. Tensor can be installed directly to a wall, frame, or fixed-glass side panel.
