Blinding light perfect for school rooms

Aug. 11, 2010

Similar in appearance to mini-blinds, the LightLouver Daylighting System provides daylighting and solar control in one system. The panels consist of reflective slats shaped and arranged in a passive optical design with no moving parts and no seasonal adjustments necessary. Daylight passing through the window is redirected onto the ceiling, providing uniform ambient lighting, reduced lighting and cooling energy costs, and improved occupant comfort. The light zone created by the redirected sunlight has an average annual illuminance of 30 foot candles and is 15 feet deep for each foot of panel height. Ideal for educational environments and green building projects, LightLouver can contribute toward LEED credits for indoor environmental quality.
