The Construction Writers of America has named Gordon Wright, executive editor of Building Design & Construction, the recipient of its highest honor, the "Silver Hardhat," for lifetime service. Wright is a 30-year veteran of the publication and a past president of the organization.At the same ceremony last month at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., contributing editor Matthew Phair received the 2003 Robert F. Boger award for best feature article. "Clearing a Vertical Path to Safety" (BD&C, Sept. 2002, p. 54) explored safety issues surrounding the Wall Trade Center attacks, notably stairwell design and construction.
Earlier, the American Society of Business Press Editors honored BD&C with both national and regional awards for design.
