New HyTronic Edge from Chicago Faucets brings funky, modern aesthetics to restrooms

Chicago Faucets provides cutting-edge design in commercial restrooms with its new HyTronic Edge electronic faucet. This new faucet brings a funky, modern look to commercial designs that all professionals in the industry will appreciate:

  • Architects and interior designers will be keen on the striking, angular spout that complements modern lavatory styles;
  • Specifiers will value the flexibility of the HyTronic platform, with a variety of styles, flow rates, and power options;
  • Installers will appreciate the above-deck electronics, vandal resistance features, and simple, powerful programmability; and
  • Building owners will benefit from the bold statement that Edge makes in today’s public restrooms, where an inviting atmosphere is more important than ever before.

As with all our other electronic faucets, the angular Edge spout is cast entirely from ECAST low-lead brass to meet current lead reduction requirements as well as the forthcoming 2014 federal lead reduction law. HyTronic Edge comes standard with a 0.5 gpm (1.9 L/min) vandal proof non-aerated spray outlet and includes an optional 2.2 gpm (8.3 L/min) aerator insert. Models with a 1.5 gpm (5.7 L/min) laminar flow control spout inlet insert are also available.

Edge is compatible with all the same accessories as the rest of the HyTronic series, such as deck plates and outlets. All HyTronic faucets, including Edge, may be powered by an AC adapter (hard-wire or plug-in), 6 volt lithium battery, or the new Self Sustaining Power System (SSPS).

In addition to the new Edge, the HyTronic family of sensor-operated electronic faucets includes contemporary and traditional spouts, deck- and wall-mount gooseneck spouts, and Chicago Faucets' popular Curve spouts. All HyTronic faucets provide reliable, touch-free hand washing and help prevent the spread of germs in public environments.

Each HyTronic faucet is designed to compensate in high-interference environments by switching from dual-beam activation to single-beam activation. This adaptability provides dependable use in demanding commercial applications. HyTronic faucets are hermetically sealed to prevent moisture damage, and the infrared sensor is shielded for additional protection.

In conjunction with the launch of Edge, Chicago Faucets has updated the full-line Electronic Faucets brochure to provide complete details on these new faucets. The new version of the brochure is available at www.chicagofaucets.com. +

EPA to revise criteria for WaterSense faucets and faucet accessories

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) plans to revise its criteria for faucets and faucet accessories to earn the WaterSense label. The specification launched in 2007; since then, most faucets now sold in the U.S. meet or exceed the current WaterSense maximum flow rate of 1.5 gallons per minute (gpm).
