USGBC launches new LEED Volume Certification program

The U.S. Green Building Council launched the LEED Volume Certification program to cover operations and maintenance of existing buildings. Announced at the Building Owners and Managers Assn.’s International Conference in Washington, D.C., the program expedites green building certification for companies, real estate firms and schools by cutting down on paperwork, costs and application time.

The first stage of the program covers construction, renovations and commercial interiors, while the second stage covers existing properties of any age that operate under a pre-certified set of standards.
