A new $35 million medical library is currently under construction at the developing Fitzsimons campus and Health Sciences Center at the University of Colorado, Denver. The 227-acre campus, located in Aurora, is one of the newest and largest medical research and patient care centers in the U.S. The 113,000-sf library, designed by Centerbrook Architects and Planners, Essex, Conn., will be the “front door” to the new campus. It will provide full access to the public on the first floor and become increasingly private and quiet on upper floors. It will offer reference services, a reading room, classrooms, a learning resource center, and administrative offices. Upper floors also include study spaces and outdoor terraces. Completion: November 2007.
