Englert, Inc. of Perth Amboy, N.J., and Soprema of Wadsworth, Ohio, two of the nation’s leading suppliers of roofing systems and materials, have announced a strategic alliance to cross sell each other’s product lines and to offer a single-source warranty that will cover all roofing systems sold and distributed by both companies.
Englert is an innovator of onsite metal roofing and gutter systems and Soprema is one of the largest producers of roofing and waterproofing products including SBS modified and liquid roof membranes. The two companies have agreed to jointly market and promote their respective product lines, particularly to contractors, architects, and building owners who are incorporating metal and membrane as the roofing system for a single project.
"We were working with Soprema on a solar project and it became apparent that the similarities between the companies - both selling direct, both privately owned, both with a history of development and innovation - made an alliance an ideal situation for both," said Tom Dyszkiewicz, senior vice president of business development and marketing at Englert. "We both had a desire to supply our customers with a single warranty for our products."
Dyszkiewicz and Soprema Vice President/General Manager Gilbert Lorenzo both said that no financial information will be exchanged in the alliance and both companies will maintain separate sales and marketing staffs. Dyszkiewicz said sales training has already begun within both companies and single-source warranty roofs should be in the market by April.
Kelly Barrett, marketing director for Firestone Building Products, said that Firestone welcomes the Englert/Soprema alliance to the metal/membrane single source warranty market. Indianapolis-based Firestone is the largest roofing manufacturer in the nation to offer a metal/membrane warranty.
"We're serious about this market, that's why we chose to acquire a company and provide the other piece of our full roof warranty," Barrett said. "We look forward to seeing what their warranty looks like."
Soprema also announced that it has opened a new manufacturing facility in Gulfport, Miss., the second Soprema facility in the U.S. and the fourth in North America.
