Inside the lobby of the Peterson Family Athletic Center at Middlebury (Vt.) College is a 30-by-40-ft. translucent skylight comprising pre-engineered rigid-frame aluminum box beams blended with translucent panels to form a system capable of clear spans up to 100 feet. The translucent panels are insulated to minimize thermal loss and gain.
