It took four years to get approval for its design, but the Urban Box Self Storage has finally gotten the thumbs up from the city of Miami Beach, Curbed Miami reports.

It won’t be your average warehouse-looking self storage space. The plans revealed, designed by Gutierrez & Lozano, are of a sleek, boutique-looking, 22,500-sf facility building that Curbed said “looks kind of like somebody chopped off a chunk of the Fountainbleu Hotel and stuck it on Alton Road.”

The developer is EP SoBe Storage, led by Ken Edelman and car dealer Alan Potamkin. "The city made us design a building that was iconic because it was at the gateway to the city," Edelman told The Miami Business Journal. "It was tough. [Gutierrez] did many redesigns."
