The four-story Tariff Building is being converted by San Francisco-based Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant Group into The Hotel Monaco, a 184-room property. Washington-based Tompkins Builders is general contractor for the project.
Omaha-based DLR Group is architect for a 240,000-sq.-ft. convention center and a 412-room Sheraton Hotel for the City of Overland Park, Kan. Turner Construction Co. was awarded two contracts totaling $101 million for the facilities, which are scheduled for completion in late 2002.
Baltimore-based RTKL Associates is architect for an 11-story office building in Rosemont, Ill. McShane Construction Corp. of Rosemont is the general contractor for the 263,000-sq.-ft. building, which is being developed by Chicago-based ORIX Real Estate Equities.
Perkins Eastman Architects of New York City is architect for Avalon Riverview, a high-rise luxury apartment community on the Queens waterfront in New York City. Bovis Lend Lease is the construction manager, and Alexandria, Va.-based AvalonBay Communities is the developer.
Dallas-based HKS Inc. is architect for 999 Sepulveda, a renovation and three-story, 15,000-sq.-ft. addition to an eight-story El Segundo, Calif., office building constructed in 1962. Kilroy Realty Corp. is the owner, and the general contractor is Hathaway Dinwiddie Construction Co. of Los Angeles. The project signifies a strong office market in El Segundo, which is adjacent to Los Angeles International Airport. The renovation cost of more than $250 per square foot is equal to the typical cost of new construction.
