When New York's New Museum of Contemporary Art opened its doors to the public on December 1, visitors experienced “Museum As Hub,” an exhibit whose centerpiece is a flexible social system made entirely from DuPont Corian solid surface. Custom designed by Christoff:Finio Architecture, New York, the space consists of a movable table and curtains set on a series of tracks. The table, made from Glacier White Corian, is comprised of several smaller tables that can be positioned anywhere along the floor track. Coupled with colorful fabric curtains which hang from congruent ceiling tracks, the system can be deployed to configure many kinds of areas within the space, from a large conference room to smaller, intimate settings.
