The design of the new stadium for the Washington Nationals Major League Baseball team was recently unveiled by the DC Sports and Entertainment Commission.
Located along the Anacostia River in the southeast quadrant of the District, the 41,000-seat, $611 million facility was designed by a joint venture of HOK+Sport of Kansas City, Mo., and local firm Devrouax & Purnell. It will be built by the joint venture design-build team of Clark Construction of Bethesda, Md., Hunt Construction of Indianapolis, and Smoot Construction of Washington, D.C. First pitch: Opening Day, 2008.
