Noble promoted to HKS executive committee

Dan Noble FAIA, FACHA, LEED AP has been promoted to the HKS Executive Committee.

The four-person Executive Committee includes Noble as well as H. Ralph Hawkins, FAIA, FACHA, LEED AP, chairman and chief executive officer; Nunzio M. DeSantis, FAIA, executive vice president; and Craig Beale, FAIA, FACHA, CHE, CHC, LEED AP, executive vice president.  All are in charge of managing the 1,250-person, 25-office global architectural practice.

According to Hawkins, the move is indicative of the firm’s continued emphasis on quality design.  “Throughout his career, Dan has created impactful, inventive designs that have contributed to improving the built environment worldwide.  His efforts as design director for HKS have helped to create a framework that promotes design excellence for our entire firm.  This role will allow him to continue his efforts in an amplified leadership role.”

Noble is responsible for the firm’s overall design direction.  A 27-year veteran of the industry, he has designed projects totaling more than $6 billion in construction cost including MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas; Mother of Emirates Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; University of Miami - Jackson Memorial Hospital Mental Health Facility in Miami, Fla.; American British Cowdray Oncology Center in Mexico City, Mexico; Emory Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta, Ga.; Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel; Parker Adventist Hospital in Parker, Colo.; Obici Hospital in Suffolk, Va.; RadioShack Riverfront Campus in Fort Worth, Texas; Fina Oil & Chemical Company Headquarters in Dallas, Texas; and USAA Corporate Headquarters in San Antonio, Texas.

His projects have been honored by the Texas Society of Architects, Progressive Architecture, Architectural Record, Texas Architect, Dallas Chapter AIA, TADA, the Architecture for Health Facilities Review, Arkansas Chapter AIA, Virginia Chapter AIA, the Symposium on Healthcare Design, HealthCare Design Magazine and the Modern Healthcare design awards program.

He has lectured throughout the United States and published numerous articles on topical design-related issues.  Noble has participated on national and local design award juries and contributed as a guest critic and lecturer with many universities as well as initiating the annual National AIA Healthcare Design Awards.
