Mall with many faces

Aug. 11, 2010

Developer Cappelli Enterprises didn't want its New Rochelle (N.Y.) Center shopping mall to be another "white-box" building. Architect Peg/Park of White Plaines, N.Y., developed a concept that called for the mall's façade to replicate some of the landmark buildings in New York City, with each storefront exhibiting a unique face. To accomplish this, the building team specified a prefabricated panel wall system that incorporated a variety of façade textures, colors and materials, including brick, granite, limestone, simulated limestone, EIFS and standing-seam metal siding.
