KLMK Group awarded contract with Children's of Alabama

The new COA building will have two shelled floors, which will allow for future expansion of an additional 96-inpatient beds.

KLMK Group, Inc., a provider of healthcare planning and facility related advisory services has been awarded the contract for Relocation Planning Services for the Benjamin Russell Hospital for Children, the expansion facility currently under construction at Children's of Alabama (COA) in Birmingham, Ala.

Children's of Alabama is a private, not-for-profit institution and is the 15th largest pediatric medical center in America in outpatient and inpatient visits. The new 12-story facility will initially have 212 beds, 48 bassinets, a 50,000 sf emergency department with 49 exam/treatment rooms and 14 Operating Rooms. Services available in the new facility will include Imaging, 2 Cardiovascular Operating Rooms, 2 Cath Labs and Interventional Radiology. In addition, the new building will have two shelled floors, which will allow for future expansion of an additional 96-inpatient beds. 

Construction on the 760,000 square foot facility began in 2009 and is scheduled to be completed by August 2012. For more information on the project or to view construction progress visit Children's of Alabama.
