Chinese cabinet approves regulation to prevent fraud in construction bidding

Dec. 1, 2011

China’s State Council approved a regulation to standardize bidding processes for construction and other business-related projects in order to prevent fraud and misconduct.

Bidders may not be asked to meet extra terms that are not related to the actual requirements of the projects, and bidding evaluators must be randomly chosen from a given list and will be prohibited from having personal contact with bidders or accepting bribes.
