Falling Architecture Billings Index indicates low design demands

Last month, the Architecture Billings Index (ABI) reportedly slowed to 47.2, continuing on a downward slope from April. ABI reflects the nine to 12 month lag between architecture billings and construction spending, and any score above 50 is considered an increase.

May’s score shows a continued decrease in demand for design services. Additionally, the new projects inquiry index was recorded at 52.6, decreasing from 55 in April.
