Aug. 11, 2010

Batson-Cook
has recently completed an expansion to the Cessna Aircraft Company facility in Columbus, Georgia. This 101,800-square-foot design-build project provides a home for the manufacturing of parts for approximately six lines of airplanes.

“The project earned Batson-Cook a “First Place, Private Sector (under $15 million)” award from the Design-Build Institute of American, Southeast Region,” said Project Manager Brandon Sisler. “We are pleased that our work with Cessna was honored at such a high level.”

Batson-Cook teamed with the owner to create 90,000 square feet of manufacturing space. An additional 11,000 square feet of office space was constructed that allowed for three offices, a reception area, three conference rooms and a kitchen. In addition to a multi-purpose room, a large open area was also built to house cubicle-based employee seating.
