Nucor presses Obama for use of domestic steel on government projects

          
          
The nation’s largest steel manufacturer is asking President-elect Barack Obama to use steel produced in the U.S. for new infrastructure projects. Nucor Corp. president, chairman, and CEO Dan DiMicco tells Bloomberg the company is taking a “leadership role” in calling for enforcement of the Buy America Act.
 
Other organizations like the American Iron and Steel Institute are joining the conversation, specifically in response to the Wall Street Journal’s January 8 opinion piece on the Act.
