Green development planned for abandoned U.S. Steel site
Chicago city planners have announced plans to redevelop 1,100 acres in South Chicago previously occupied by the U.S. Steel into a sustainable neighborhood of green buildings, a new lakefront park, streetcars and bicycle paths, according to a January 14 report by Medill Reports Chicago.
