Mohawk Home bids Madden adieu

Aug. 11, 2010

Madden has signed on as the national spokeswoman for the $1 billion-plus JCPenney Home collection brand and will also lend creative direction and trend insight the development of the retailer’s home product lines. Madden has terminated her license agreements with Mohawk as well as candle supplier Austin, Madden told HTT. Her license with Bassett Furniture is limited to distribution only through the Bassett Direct stores, she said.

“It is first and foremost our desire not to disrupt retail business going into the fall season,” Mohawk said in a press statement this morning. “Mohawk Home and Chris Madden Inc. are working together to assure the smooth transition of product currently placed at key retailers across the country."

"Mohawk Home is very pleased for JCPenney and their partnership with Chris Madden,” the statement continued. “We are confident her success will continue to grow within the JCPenney organization.”
