School Building Program

S.M. Wilson & Co. recently completed a $22.1-million building project for the School of the Osage R-II School District in Lake Ozark. The project included construction of a new middle school and significant renovations to School of the Osage High School.

The district's new 107,000-plus-square-foot middle school can accommodate up to 600 students from the fast-growing community. A split layout creates a more optimal learning environment for students by separating the school's academic area from its recreation/activities area.

Comprised of two two-story classroom wings that are connected by a main corridor, the academic area houses classrooms, exploratory rooms, a library, and computer labs. The creation/activities area features a rotunda-type commons with a lobby entrance, administration offices, a full-size gymnasium, vocal and band classrooms, a music lab, locker rooms, and a multipurpose gym that also doubles as a performing arts center.

Renovations to Osage High School included the addition of a new classroom wing, which houses seven finished classrooms and additional storage space.
