N.J. Gives Revel's A.C. Casino The Go-Ahead

Aug. 11, 2010

The state of New Jersey has given Revel Entertainment Group the go-ahead on a planned Atlantic City casino and resort. The Revel project team includes Tishman Construction Corp. and design firms Arquitectonica, BLT Architects and SOSH Architects. Located at the north end of the Boardwalk adjacent to Showboat, the development would include 3,800 hotel rooms in two 48-story towers, 150,000 square feet of casino space and 500,000 square feet of retail, dining and entertainment space, including a large theater and spa. The $2-billion project is one of recent mega-sized luxury resorts being built in the locale for gaming developers and operators like MGM. It's targeted to compete with the newest upscale casino such as the 2,000-room Borgata and the recently announced MGM Grand, a $5-billion casino resort that will add three 50-story hotel towers to Atlantic City by 2012.
