Midwest Commerce Center

Aug. 11, 2010

As site development for the Midwest Commerce Center in Gardner begins, design-builder Clayco Inc. is preparing to start construction on a new 1.1-million-square-foot distribution facility for Coleman.

Midwest Commerce Center is being developed by USAA Real Estate Co. of San Antonio, TX, and LS Commercial Real Estate of Overland Park, KS. Site development work includes grading, road construction, and sewer and water work. The industrial park is planned to house five buildings totaling over 2.2 million square feet of warehouse space on the 150-acre-plus site.

The Coleman distribution warehouse, featuring a single-story, tilt-up structure with 32-foot clear heights, will be built in the Midwest Commerce Center. The Wichita, KS-based manufacturer of camping and outdoor sports equipment will house over 200 employees in its new facility. Clayco has slated the design-build project for completion in November.

Joining Clayco on the project is Forum Studio, architect and interior designer; Stock & Associates Consulting Engineers, civil engineer; Peridian Group, civil engineer; and Alper Audi, structural engineer.
