Persistent problem of construction jobsite theft can lead to project delays
Jobsite security incidents remain a persistent risk for construction firms, according to the latest Pro-Vigil’s State of Physical Security report.
Some 89% of construction leaders say physical security incidents on jobsites increased or stayed the same in 2025, while only 11% reported a decrease. Security incidents frequently translate into downtime, rescheduling, and have ripple effects across crews and timelines.
Respondents most often say incidents affect inventory (32%) and lead to damaged assets (32%). Twenty percent say the disruption goes further, contributing to project delays.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly viewed as a powerful tool for preventing and responding to incidents. But only 11% of construction respondents say their security strategy currently uses AI, which is lower than the 15% reported across all industries.
