Liftstrap Bifold Door at Coolidge Football Performance Center | Large-Scale Athletic Facility Doors

With much of the hard work of college football happening behind the scenes in training rooms and on practice fields, Texas A&M University has invested in various athletic facilities, including the Coolidge Football Performance Center. Comprised of a 160-yard indoor field sheltered within a massive steel fieldhouse and two 140-yard outdoor fields, a large liftstrap bifold door connects the field and allows for ease of movement of football players in gear, coaching and training staff, and small vehicles transporting equipment. Measuring 30 feet, 4 inches wide and 28 feet, 5 inches high, the door was engineered to hold the weight of translucent polycarbonate panels that allow natural light in without overheating the space. Several safety features were incorporated, including two overrides, photo eye sensors and a safety edge for the door base. Black liftstraps were requested for the project and support the door being a “wow factor” for the project.
